Over the years flamenco has taken hold in Australia, prospering in a seemingly hostile environment. Many people have become interested in flamenco as a "fiery" "passionate" art form which is full of colour and movement. Attracted by the spectacle of the dance and the music, particularly the guitar, audiences have grown so that flamenco shows in both countries are often sold out.
As people get more involved in the art form, they begin to appreciate the depth of expression in flamenco, in the dance, in the music and of course in the singing. For those who are interested in taking your passion further, this site provides access to information and like-minded souls. For those who just like the spotty dresses, there's plenty for you here too.

We get a lot of inquiries coming through the web site. If you can help anyone with any of the flamenco questions we've been unable to answer, send an email to tim@pena.com.au. All of them so far are for guitar teachers:
We're also looking at providing an area for people to post their own flamenco diaries, which can cover anything from classes in Spain, to your time spent in hospital for knee reconstruction. Coming soon ...
